Case Study Malincho - 825 Words
Case Study: Malincho (Case Study Sample) Content: Case Study: MalinchoAuthor NameInstitution NameThe essay below is a case study of Kalin Pentcheve. Kalin was a US migrant from Bulgaria who started the business of importing feta cheese from Bulgaria and started selling it in US through his company called Malincho. He didnà ¢Ã¢â ¬t have any prior experience in importation of food stuffs. The essay will point out the personal attributes of Kalin in entrepreneurship. The essay will also discuss how Kalin found the opportunity and the success of the opportunity.Kalin was an ambitious man. He had the drive and hunger to be successful. He was persistent despite some obstacles in performance of his business. Despite having no prior experience in food industry, Kalin was able to shake off these concerns because of the hunger to succeed. Against all odds, he was able to thrive at a time when there was an economic recession. His ambition was not barred by his background. Even back in Bulgaria, his ambitious intellect made him leave the camp for poor pay. He prompted to stop looking for a job and instead build his own business from scratch.Kalin was also a man full of tenacity. To be able to start a business, one has to live with uncertainties and obstacles ( HYPERLINK "/s/ref=ntt_athr_dp_sr_1?_encoding=UTF8field-author=Andrew%20Zacharakissearch-alias=digital-textsort=relevancerank" Zacharakis Bygrave, 2010). Risk taking is a core aspect in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs need to be arrogant for success in their businesses. In terms of adverse economic times, tenacity provides a driving force. When Kalin was starting the importation of feta cheese, he wanted to have a partner. A partner would help him with better decisions and financial assistance. This was not the case. Kalin did not like the partner as he thought he was not business oriented. While shipping the cheese, 5% of the cheese spoilt due to poor packaging. This too did not pull him down. Despite these setbacks, Kalin did not fall back. His tenacious character drove him to greater heights.Kalin had a character of self-belief. He did not bend to obstacles and criticism. Self believe is a critical entrepreneurial trait ( HYPERLINK "/s/ref=ntt_athr_dp_sr_1?_encoding=UTF8field-author=Andrew%20Zacharakissearch-alias=digital-textsort=relevancerank" Zacharakis Bygrave, 2010). One has to be pretty sure that the product offered in the market is a world beater. Kalin developed confidence that the opportunity of importing cheese was a great idea. Despite the many obstacles, he still had the self-belief in the business. He faced financial constraints in the course of his entrepreneurship. This did not discourage him. He believed in the business and nothing could distract him.In summary, Kalin had three crucial personal attributes. These were self believe, ambition and self-belief. In my opinion, the three top attributes of an entrepreneur are passion, creativity and flexibility. Passion drives entrepreneurs to find solution s to problems in life. Entrepreneurs are not solely motivated by money. Passion drives them to exploit the gaps in the market....
